問題是，何以原本應扮演「補救」角色的補習班，現今儼然形成與學校並駕齊驅的態勢，有時甚至反客為主？這其中又有何陷阱或不良影響？

「國中『每科必補』的習慣會一路帶到高中、大學，」徐月娥警告，補習有一個嚴重的後遺症，長期下來，習慣吸收別人整理好的重點，雖然較輕鬆，但無形間失去很多自己閱讀消化、綜合整理知識的磨練；同時補習往往流於機械式的重複練習，與其花這麼多時間多得到幾分，不如把基本概念弄懂後，把時間用在探索、思考和應用上，才能真正增加自己的能力。如今「大學高中化」或研究生做學問的態度和能力不足，補習文化難辭其咎。

近來風行的「補作文」也很值得商榷。作家和學者一致認為，補習作文不但不具效果，制式化的「範本」更戕害學生的思考和情意的表達。世新大學中文系教授、知名作家廖玉蕙表示，「補出來的作文，分數都很低。」因為補習班只重表達技巧，無助於提升作文品質，她在批閱大學考試作文時，就常看到同一模式的寫法。

且聽一個真實的笑話：某年學測作文題目是「樹」，閱卷老師發現一包50份的考卷中，有38人的主題都寫外公家的老榕樹，其中又以「樹下聽故事」最多；有年以「失去」為題，當年竟然有三萬多名考生都寫失去祖母的感傷，結果分數當然都偏低。

從教育本質看，學習是一種探索的過程，周麗玉舉瑞士教育心理學家皮亞傑的理論說明，由於每個人吸收知識的基模架構不同，孩子是自己「學」會的，不是別人「教」會的，所以預留足夠的空間讓師生對話、思辯，才是學習的真義。而補習班求直接、速成的學習模式，正大大壓縮了這個空間。何況補習班以「爭取高分」為唯一目的，太過功利化和外塑化，學習已經退化為一種工具。

1.確認學校教育目標：確立適當而明確的教學目標。教學目標既有固定的，又有變化的，由學生、家長、學校管理人員、教師共同商定，並因不同社區、學校、學生而異。 

2.鑑別學生個別差異：根據學生的個性與需要靈活調整學習內容、形式、途徑等。 

3.分類與選定目標：學生自己實施學習方案。 

4.配合學習目標，編選分組教材。 

5.多途或任選學習過程。 

6.差別進度與速度。       7.隨時診斷記錄。 

8.迂迴轉進、補救教學。 

9.並用多種評量：教學評價視需要而定，並非每周固定。 

10.行政服務配合。 

11.及時回饋與修訂資訊，不斷研究發展。從總體來看，個別指導教學的主要特徵在於其教學目標、內容評價等都是靈活機動的，它要求學校、家庭、社區協調一致，同時比較充分地發揮了學生的自主性。二、凱勒式個人化系統教學﹙Personalized System of Instruction, PSI﹚ 

凱勒式個人化系統教學，是由美國哥倫比亞大學的心理學教授凱勒及其同事開發、實驗的一個強調學生自我控制學習速度，以適應個人差異的個別化教學方案。這一方案是建立在行爲主義的強化原理和程式教學理論基礎之上的。1968年，凱勒在美國心理學會年會上正式提出了凱勒個人教學計劃，其目的為改正傳統教學中學生依賴教師的習慣，培養學生獨立自學的能力。採行凱勒式教學教師幾乎不講課，完全由學生自我學習，直到自認熟練後即可在固定上課時間要求參加評量考試。因此學生可在任何地方學習，教室主要是作為領取教材和參加評量考試的場所。其大致步驟是： 

1.熟練標準：每單元學習之初，學生一方面有機會聽到教師的介紹學習方法並激勵動機的講演，另一方面會收到單元學習指南。高熟練標準是凱勒教學模式的主要特色之一。學生若通過單元考試，即表示已達熟練標準，若未達到就必須重新學習原單元教材，直到自認熟練後再參加該單元考試，通過才可繼續學習下一單元教材。理論上來說，學生參加單元考試的次數不加限制。
2.學生自我控速(self-pacing)：學生按照指南自學教材，依性向、能力、時間等因素決定學習的速度，可以自己選擇學習地點和學習時間。凱勒博士對於學生學習速度沒有任何限制3.單元考試和成績評量：
凱勒博士主張將整個科目的教材細分成許多小單元，每一單元皆有評量考試。教材少較容易評量出每一項單元學習目標，學生也較容易分配各單元學習時間，有助於學習動機的增強。單元學習結束時，學生必須通過本單元的考試，考完後由助理立即批改，通過熟練標準可決定繼續方可學習新單元。學生還要參加期末考試，是全學期課程的一種總結性評量。4.立即回饋：凱勒博士認為學習之後能讓學生立即獲知其成績表現，會有助於學習成效的提升。在凱勒的教學模式中，助理的主要功能之一就是使學生能立即獲知評量考試是否通過，如果沒有通過，老師或助理將會指出學生錯誤所在，使學生能即刻知道正確答案，並再重新準備等下次參加評量或與老師討論問題。如果通過，學生會由助理得到立即的增強，對下一單元的學習也會有幫助。

5.助理制度：助理通常是由曾經修習過該科目的學生，或由班上學習進度較快的學生擔任，助理必須對該科目教材內容和問題都很熟練。其助理的任務有三：肷助理在學生考完單元考試時，就會立即根據教師所提供的標準答案進行批改。助理可作為一對一的學習指導者，並回答學生各項問題。助理須將每位學生的進度作詳細的記錄，並且經常向教師報告學生的學習情況。 

6.學習材料：在凱勒教學模式中，書面文字資料(學習材料)是主要的教學來源，教師只是輔助者的角色。書面資料包括學生的學習指引、評量試題、指定閱讀的教科書及作業等。學習指引包括各單元目標的明確敘述、教材內容的分析及示範練習題等，這些都是學生自學的重要指引。

7.講述和展示：凱勒的教學計畫中設計有少數的講演和展示或討論會，這些安排主要是在激發學生的動機和興趣，學生可自由選擇參加，講述的內容也不列入考試的題材。

除了以上七種基本成份，對於教師在課堂上的角色，凱勒博士也有他的詮釋，他認為教師並非教學的領導者，他只是教學系統的成員之一，是學習的管理者。教師的職責包括下列六項：
一、選擇這門課的全部教材。
二、將教材加以系統化組織。
三、提供包括具體目標的敘寫、教材內容的分析及示範問題的提示等學習指引。
四、編製多套的單元評量試題。
五、擔任一些講述展示或主持討論會。
六、解答學生各種學習的問題。

凱勒制在考慮教學中的個體差異、滿足學生的個別需要等方面，確實富有創造性。但在從實驗走向實踐中勢必遇到很多困難，甚至不太可能。因爲這一模式使學校的功能和特徵弱化乃至喪失了，不僅造成了教學效率的低下，也帶來了教學質量上的許多問題。實施凱勒制的很多要求，如教師助理、測量評價等也難以達到。因此，這一模式在風靡了三五年之後也就銷聲匿迹了。

另外一份「中學生國語文能力」研究報告則顯示，學生國文程度變差的原因包括學生閱讀量太少、偏好影像式閱讀材料、受到網路語言影響等。有老師指出，語文能力要好，「閱讀」仍是最基本的原則，而家長若能從小幫孩子選書、養成親子共讀的習慣，對提升孩子的語文能力會非常有幫助。語言是人與生俱來的能力，但閱讀能力卻有賴家長與老師協助後天的指導才能養成。

從第一次國中基測的考題來看，整體而言，國文科考題沒有花俏或特別刁鑽艱澀的題目，而是回歸古典傳統，多成語及典故、注重文意理解。在注音、改錯、閱讀測驗等各類題目中，成語理解比重高達四成。今年考前，由於政治人物對「罄竹難書」這句成語的不同解釋，正好提醒了教育者「成語理解」的重要性，所以國文科中出了不少和日常生活相關的成語題，用意也在提醒孩子們，好好學國文，其實日常生活也都用得到。近幾年國文科的試題內容，已不再僅限於課本內容，新詩、武俠小說等都曾入題；多元靈活的題目，正是希望能測出孩子真正的閱讀能力，讓語文學習跳脫「死背」的框架。「廣泛閱讀」的重要性，由此可見一斑。

日前第一次國中基測成績公布了，令人訝異的是今年有一位考生，不論數學、理化、英文，全都是漂亮的滿分，但他的作文卻只考了不及格的三級分。這樣的成績讓眾人跌破眼鏡，但這位考生卻尷尬地說，其實作文成績已經發揮了平日的水準了。

雖然今年作文成績不計分，並不影響他念第一志願，但只要一想到暑假得上作文補救教學，這位滿級分的狀元就開始煩惱，平時只愛看漫畫的他說，只要一看到字數多的文章或書，就覺得頭昏眼花。
他說，為了躲開寫作文的惡夢，將來打算念第二類組，至於逃不過的暑假作文補救教學，只好咬著牙撐過去。

然而，「作文」或國語文能力，關係的可不是只在求學時代考試分數高低而已，和其他學科相較，它甚至會有更深遠的影響：找工作寫履歷自傳時，難道不需要好的作文能力，讓素未謀面的人也能了解自己的長處嗎？其他在人際上交往、工作上的應對進對時，該如何說出得體的話、避免說錯話造成尷尬的場面，更是處處都需要語文能力呀！

好文筆靠閱讀

從明年開始，作文成績就要正式列入升學依據，該怎麼辦？許多家長更開始擔心，孩子是不是又要多補一科？其實提升作文能力的最好方法並不是補習，只要多讀課外書、多思考、多練習寫作，自然水到渠成。

第一次國中基本學力測驗雖然有「除了作文皆滿分」的考生，卻也有在作文得到滿分六級分的考生；反觀在這兩位學生，在被問到如何培養作文能力時，不約而同地說是靠「大量閱讀」！由於平日養成了大量閱讀的習慣，久而久之，就能將書中的知識自然內化為自己的寫作能量，才讓他們在作文考試中脫穎而出。在一堆口語化、通篇是「你我他」的文章中，如果能將平時累積的典故、成語歷史故事等語文知識，妥善運用在文章中佐證自己的論點，必定能讓評審老師眼睛一亮，輕鬆在作文一科拿到高分。

閱讀是教育根本，打開一本書，就是打開世界。前新加坡總理李光耀指出，二十一世記最需要兩大能力—— 「快速吸收資訊的能力」與「正確表達自己的能力」。前者需要靠閱讀，後者則必需倚賴作文訓練。培養孩子良好的閱讀習慣，則有賴於老師與家長從小引導，由此可見，幫助孩子選擇好書，比什麼都重要！

如果能讀到大學，人與人的智力通常相差不大，大家都很努力工作，但是成就總是有所差別，無疑的這就是「工作方法跟效率的問題」！

對於一個成功的人來說，他總是悠哉悠哉的處理問題，而且跟他一起工作的人也不會有壓力；反之，若是你做什麼事總是匆匆茫茫，你的緊繃情緒也許不自知，但是讓人家無法放輕鬆跟你溝通，我不知你做的事情能多有品質！

人家找你，絕不是因為你偉大，那是因為你跟他都在找尋「生命中的關鍵大事」，你得知道有這件事，卻並不一定非要你自己「跳下去」跟他一起找。

生命中的關鍵大事，你需要的不是讓自己「忙碌」，讓別人覺得你很重要，而是讓別人體會出「有你一句話」就夠了！

There is always one fascinating point about mythology, which is the engrossing story that attracts everyone’s attention. Although stories are part of literature, they are not as obscure and difficult as real literature. Stories could loosen your head and get into your mind, they are very easy to remember because after you hear one good story, you can recount to others immediately or several days later. 

We might feel familiar with the story of “The Rebel God” due to that we all learn western literature earlier in the university. Nevertheless, to students in the middle school, it might be hard for them because Greek mythology is not part of our culture, and I didn’t know much about the Greek mythology as well until I got into college. Therefore, I need to come up with an idea, which allows the students understand the text easily.  

My primary plan was to give the students the text to read and ask them to do the crossword puzzle. At that time, my hypothesis was “using fun games to motivate students’ learning interest.” However, after observing my sister doing the puzzle, I realized that this crossword puzzle could not work out well; it wasn’t so interesting for her. I found out that even though my sister read the text, she didn’t try to understand it. When she did the puzzle, she just went back to the text to look for the words to fit into the blanks. Therefore, I was the only person, who thought that the crossword game was exciting and wanted to do so regardless of the validity of learning.  

After talking to Alice on May 23, I knew that I had to change my plan, but I didn’t have any back-up plans, so I went all over my notes and handouts, finally I saw the lesson plan of the basketball game given by Ms, Lin when we visited the sixth grade classroom at Fuhsing private school. I adapted her idea of letting students make their own sentences, giving away points according to its difficulty and the idea of competition between two teams could raise students’ motivation, and I made my own game that you saw on May 30. 

Furthermore, my new hypothesis was born: “students could have the general idea of the context by making their own questions and answers through games (competitions)”, which as well should be contributed to the recall of the class observation at Fuhsing private school. Because I remembered that every student in Ms. Lin’s class was having fun when they were playing the “basketball game” by answering the questions they made by themselves and they could always go back to the books if they didn’t know the answer. 

When I really began to design the rules of the game we played, I had only three days left to the teaching demonstration, I needed to come up with an interesting game, because I still believed that fun games could motivate students, then I asked myself what kind of game I liked the most, Da-Fu-Woun（大富翁） popped into my head, therefore, my rules were pretty much like Da-Fu-Woun’s except that I used “paper, scissor, cloth” instead of the dice to start the game and the “check point” was like “chance” in the Da-Fu-Woun, students wouldn’t know what kind of questions they would draw, and if they answer the question wrong, no matter the question was made by the teacher or the students, the team need to move backwards according to the points. 

Right at that moment, even though I had my script, I still didn’t have the poster, I did not know how to draw pictures well. Therefore, I asked if my part-time coworker could help me since he is a computer animator at daytime, drawing pictures must be his thing. So I conveyed my idea to him, he immediately drew the sketch of the poster you saw on May 30, I admired his work because he drew exactly the way what I wanted to be, cute but alive. I got the black and white poster back on Monday, and then I colored it with my sister, she also helped me to draw the eagle. 

When I got on the stage, I forgot most of the things in my lesson plan; I just asked the class to read the text and explained the rules very quickly, and then started to play the game. I do not think that my participants reacted well, because in my imagination, everyone should act like the students in Fuhsing private school. I could tell from their eyes, some people didn’t get the idea of the game, or I should say that I didn’t express myself well in English and I was too nervous to say anything. Still I appreciated that everyone tried his or her best to participate in my activity, especially Tim, sacrificing his dignity for entertaining us all (actually for gaining the points) by using his butt to write, “Fire.” In addition, Anne also gave us an interesting respond for answering the question: “if you’re the eagle, do you think you will enjoy eating Prometheus’ liver? Why?” She said no, because no one will enjoy eating the same food everyday. 

I think both my participants and I had some fun and knew a story from this activity, I will never forget who Prometheus is. Another thing I learn is that if I want to play games with students in the future, I have to give clear instructions in order to prevent misunderstanding of the rules. Furthermore, I find out that the older we get, the more ossified we are. Almost all the questions made are so fixed. I retrieved 24 questions back; only two questions made me feel interesting. One is “how to pronounce P-r-o-m-e-t-h-e-u-s?” The other is “why did Hercules pass by the rock?” Maybe I am too greed, not only I want my students to gain knowledge but also creativity and critical thinking at the same time. In Taiwan, most students are trained to not to ask why, we never have doubts against the textbooks just keep tests and tests because I used to be one of them, right now I recognize the importance of creativity and critical thinking. I could only hope that I would give different perspectives for my future students because textbooks are predictable, but life is not.

人都有情緒，只是好壞；我以前脾氣也很差，現在好多了，我可以體諒一個人為何容易發怒？那是生理問題，絕非自己「願意」這樣。

我們準備要罵人家之前，都會嗆聲：「等一下我要給他難看」，可是你忘了自己生氣的樣子是很難看的，所以你要讓別人難看之前，你得先讓自己難看！

生氣發怒叫做「失態」，不管你有沒有道理，你都是在「懲罰自己」，搞不好還讓自己「胃痛」，所以罵人這舉動，你不僅損人也不利己。

我了解你總要發洩，不然會受不了，這我都知道啦！這樣說好了！你會發怒是因為你感覺吃虧，那麼你要先想一下：「感謝你的笨拙、無知，這樣才能顯現我的聰明」，反言之，你該感激他啊！

【理直氣不壯，得理且饒人】

說的好容易，也許你會覺得自己還是做不到，我會要求你罵人之前，先想一下自己的缺點，你的火氣就會降下幾分，因為你難道是完人不成？

每次人家批評我或是責罵我，我真的都不會生氣，因為我覺得自己一定有錯，就算我沒做錯，讓人家誤會，那也是一種錯，是不？

日本最新一期的「春秋」，提到一個話題「多數人講對，也不一定就對」，你一定同感吧？中國老成語「積非成是」不就是證明有這個理論嗎？既然世界上沒有絕對的是非，那你憑什麼「大聲」？

證嚴法師說：「吵架會大聲，是因為覺得自己有理，所以要壓制對方氣焰，可是因為你太大聲，太強勢，反而讓理虧的人惱羞成怒 。」如果你真的有理，你應該更客氣、有禮貌，並且讓他能「順勢」下台，要是對方不聽、不認錯，那是他在懲罰自己，而你還能做什麼？建議你回一句「阿彌陀佛」就可以了！
